Common Questions

Questions patients ask us most

If your question isn't here, call us on +91-9910033190 — happy to help before you book.

Do I need a doctor's prescription for a blood test?
No — you can walk in for routine tests like CBC, sugar, lipid profile, thyroid or liver function. For specialist panels (hormones, tumour markers, allergy testing) we recommend a quick consultation with Dr. Deepika first, so the test ordered is the test you actually need. Walk-ins for sample collection are welcome during clinic hours.
Should I fast before a blood test?
Fasting blood sugar, lipid profile and a few hormone tests need 8–12 hours of fasting (water only). For most other tests including CBC, thyroid panel and liver function, fasting is not required. If you are unsure, call +91-9910033190 before coming in and we will confirm what your test needs.
How long do results take?
Routine blood and urine tests are typically reported the same day or within 24 hours. Cultures (urine, throat) take 48–72 hours. Specialist panels and hormonal tests can take 2–3 working days. Results are sent by email and can also be picked up at the clinic; Dr. Deepika can review them with you on a follow-up visit.
How accurate are the results?
All samples are processed by Lal Path Labs, which is NABL-accredited (the highest Indian accreditation for diagnostic laboratories) and runs the same protocols across its pan-India network. Sample collection at our clinic follows standard cold-chain handling so results are reliable from collection through to reporting.
How much does a blood test cost?
Costs vary by test. A basic CBC starts around ₹250, a comprehensive metabolic panel around ₹600, a full thyroid profile around ₹500, and a complete executive health check around ₹2,500–₹4,000 depending on inclusions. Call +91-9910033190 with the test name for an exact quote before you visit.
What is included in an executive health check-up?
Around 50 parameters covering blood count, sugar (fasting and HbA1c), lipid profile, kidney function, liver function, thyroid, urine routine, ECG, chest X-ray and a doctor consultation to interpret results. We have a younger and a senior package; Dr. Deepika tailors investigations based on age, family history and existing conditions.
Can I bring my child for a blood test?
Yes — paediatric blood collection is done by the same Lal Path Labs technician who handles adult collection. Tests like blood count, iron levels, thyroid screening and infection markers are routinely run for children. Come in during clinic hours; ask for paediatric collection specifically and the technician will use a smaller-gauge needle.
What about COVID, dengue, typhoid and viral fever tests?
All available — COVID PCR and antigen, dengue NS1 and serology, typhoid (Widal and TyphiDot), malaria (smear and antigen), and viral fever panels. Dr. Deepika usually orders the right combination after a clinical assessment so you don't end up paying for tests you don't need.
Can I get my reports in soft copy?
Yes — reports are emailed to you as a PDF as soon as they are ready. They are also available on the Lal Path Labs patient portal. Hard copies can be picked up at the clinic if you prefer. Carry recent reports with you when you see Dr. Deepika so she can review them in-context.
Do you offer home sample collection?
Lal Path Labs runs home sample collection across Gurgaon for an additional convenience fee (typically ₹100–₹200). Call +91-9910033190 and we will arrange a slot. For routine tests, walking into the clinic during clinic hours is faster, but home collection is genuinely useful for elderly or bedridden patients.

When to go to the ER instead

Diagnostics are routine, not emergencies. If you have severe symptoms — chest pain, breathlessness, sudden severe headache, heavy bleeding, suspected stroke or heart attack — go directly to a hospital emergency department, not a diagnostic centre. Tests can wait; emergency assessment cannot.

Ready to book a test?

Walk-ins welcome. Same-day results for most tests. Book online or call us.
